Marketing vet Steve Reed named as Machinima's VP of brand partnerships

YouTube network Machinima has crowned digital ad vet Steve Reed as their new VP of brand partnerships.

Reed's CV spans a busy 15 years in the digital and entertainment industries; he served a span as national VP of sales at CBS interactive with brands such as GameSpot and CNET, before forming his own agency, Tier Zero

“Machinima’s brand has never been stronger and this is an incredible time for brands to partner with us in order to take advantage of our incredible reach with millennial gamers,” SVP of Machinima Russell Arons said in a statement.

“Steve comes to Machinima with a reputation for innovation and the ability to develop unique large-scale brand experiences, connecting audiences with products in a way that is creative, compelling, and entertaining.”

Mean, green machine

Machinima recently went through a rebrand, restructuring their vision and switching their signature red logo out for a slick new green.

Aron's focus has been to bring Machinima back to its gaming roots - launching a 24/7 channel on Twitch and creating a new series of live esports tournaments, Body Count Fighting, focused on fighting games like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter.

Machinima is also producing programming for a variety of platforms, including Verizon's go90, Amazon Video Direct and Facebook Watch. Arons has also hinted that Machinima will soon reveal new projects that will fit into the larger WBDN ecosystem.
