Logan Paul faces backlash from fellow YouTubers over showing dead body video

Unsuprisingly, Logan Paul's recent stunt has earned him a fair amount of criticism from other YouTubers.

Paul uploaded a vlog in which he visited the Aokigahara forest in Japan, a notorious hotspot for suicide. He proceeds to then film himself discovering a dead body, whilst laughing.

The YouTube community has spoken out in force against Paul's decision to upload the video.

Community backlash

YouTube gamer Jacksepticeye commented on Paul's actions, stating that 'there's absolutely no defending it'

Yogscast creator Martyn Littlewood expressed shame at sharing the platform with Paul.

Internet personality Boogie2988 made an 'open letter' video directed at Paul's wrongdoings. He comments on the prospect of a new adpocalypse. and pointed out that the act in itself violated YouTube's terms of service.

He also encourages people to donate to suicide prevention hotlines instead of getting angry. An actual, noble way of raising awareness.

Vlogger Philip DeFranco commented on the lack of acknowledgement from Logan's fanbase, and said that this event won't hurt him unless YouTube intervenes.

YouTuber Keemstar also hit out at Paul in a recent video, pointing out that a dead body is not something he should be keen to show to his young fanbase.

Saving face

Logan has issued an apology on Twitter since uploading the video, but it has been widely cited as 'weak' and 'insincere' by other creators.

It's still unclear whether Paul will suffer any consequences as a result of his mis-step. Unless YouTube issues a strike or a channel suspension, the only punishment that Paul will recieve is a short-lived, proverbial slap on the wrist from the internet.
