This month, Twitch is hosting a number of featured streams to celebrate African-American History Month.
The platform explained in a blog postthat it will spend February showcasing diversity, and shining a spotlight on broadcasters of colour and their communities.
African-American History Month, more commonly known as Black History Month, began as an appreciation week founded by Carter G. Woodson and minister Jesse E. Moorland in 1926. Every American President since 1976 has signed a proclamation designating February as National African-American History Month.
The SpawnOnme podcast will kick off the month's proceedings today at 7:30pm ET. The stream will delve in to how African-Americans have sculpted the conversation and culture of entertainment over the years, and how it continues to shape the direction of gaming.
Join us in showing love and appreciation to broadcasters of color and their communities all month! #BlackHistoryMonth pic.twitter.com/9ngplROq3p
