Snapchat rolls out new customisable AR lenses in the UK

Social app Snapchat launched a new feature today - an AR face lens.

The feature allows users to personalise their photos, adding custom frames, graphics, augmented dog ears, whatever you like. The Lenses packages start at £5.99.

Users can now create their own bespoke artwork and overlays for photos taken with the app. There's over 150 templates and lenses to choose from, and they can all be customised with emojis, date, time and places.

Snapchat already utilises AR, but these new premium packages will allow users to access their favourite filters at any time - even when it goes out of rotation on the main app.

Users were not thrilled at Snapchat's recent updates; a petition to rollback the recent changes amassed over one million signatures.

New changes to platform were made to separate interactions with friends from the content of celebrities and influencers, but they weren't recieved well.

Despite this, Snapchat is still managing to capture the minds of 18 to 24-year olds - a demographic that accounts for 44 per cent of it's overall userbase.
