Instagram announced the update in a blog post, where it also stated that users miss approximately 70 per cent of the content they're following.
A shift in focus
The company is reworking the newsfeed to reflect user's interests so that content they want to see will appear first. Posts will be arranged by time, tags a user frequently looks at, or by relationship between another user.
Instagram has been working on updating the app in various ways - last year the company pushed out new tools to help influencers properly disclose paid sponsorships and endorsements.
Business accounts on the platform can add clickable links in to their Instagram stories, and introducing clickable hashtags and profile links to bios is another step forward. Now all we need is working links in post descriptions.
