The Big Indie Pitch is returning to San Francisco during GDC for the seventh year running, as we once again celebrate the very best in mobile indie development.

So, come join us in San Francisco during GDC week 2019 for networking and pitching in one of the world's most diverse and interesting markets, as we once again put the spotlight on some of the best indie developers.

The unique speed dating format gives each developer four minutes with each panel of experts, meaning entrants will get real feedback from the event. The winner will also get editorial coverage in Pocket Gamer, AppSpy and beyond, making this a great chance to get you, your studio and your game played by the world, alongside potentially winning one of our brand new bespoke Indie packages that can be used to promote and market your game across Steel Media's portfolio of sites and events.

What? How? Who?

How it’ll work couldn’t be simpler. We’re inviting indie developers of all shapes and sizes along to pitch their games to our teams of tame journalists.

Twenty teams will run the gauntlet, giving their all in quickfire four-minute pitches to demonstrate that their title is worth of the Big Indie Pitch crown and coverage in the mobile games media.

The basic criteria:

  • You can pitch games for mobile, portable (including Switch), mobile VR, and AR
  • You can pitch your game even if you’ve pitched it at a previous BIP
  • We prefer to see unreleased games, though we’re happy to see games that are out too

Judges

  • Gregan Dunn - Hothead Games
  • Kevin Beimers - Italic Pig
  • Martine Spaans - FGL
  • Stephen Lee - DECA Games
  • Rebecca Lautner - BerlinBalticNordic
  • Itai Edry - Miniclip

Profile and prizes

Aside from editorial coverage and the chance to get their game in front of the leading media influencers and potential publisher partners, The Big Indie Pitch also rewards the top developers with a range or bespoke Indie Prizes which allow the recipients access to a range of Steel Media's advertorial and consultancy services. We'll also be interviewing the top three for PocketGamer.Biz. and the overall winner will additionally receive free tickets to a Pocket Gamer Connects of their choice.

Take part

If you fancy the chance of winning the Big Indie Pitch (or coming along to spectate and show your support), getting signed up couldn’t be easier.

Simply sign up here using our REGISTRATION PAGE.

We'll then review the entries and inform the finalists regarding their inclusion.

All submissions will be notified if they are successful in their application to pitch at the event. Please note that all entrants must be able to attend the event and Steel Media will not cover cover costs associated with getting to the event.

The sooner you register your interest, the better as places are limited. All approved pitchers will be emailed confirmation closer to the event.

Deadline for submissions is March 13th (all approved pitchers will be emailed confirmation)

If you don't get into the competition, you are of course more than welcome to still come along and check out the action and enjoy a drink or two following the pitch. For this simply sign up via our eventbrite page (spectator tickets available soon).

Oh and if you're not sure what to expect, then you can check out all the epicness from our recent Big Indie Pitch at G-STAR 2018, which took place as a part of South Korea's biggest show.
