12-year-old streamer swatted after quick rise to stardom

Peter ‘Rolly Ranchers’ Varady became the sad victim of a swatting attack after a whirlwind few days of massive subscriber growth.

Varady, who is only 12, happened to be paired with YouTube star Cizzorz in a random duos match of Fortnite: Battle Royale. The pair hit it off and Cizzorz ended up encouraging his audience to join Varady’s stream, quickly propelling up to over 80k subscribers.

Varady, who was moved to tears, said that he “didn’t deserve” the support, but was encouraged by Cizzorz who argued that it was a rightful reward for the hard work he had put into his streaming career. He also received several hundred dollars in tips.

However, on Sunday things went south when Varady was swatted. Police turned up at his house after someone had phoned 911 and claimed that he and his mother were going to hang themselves.

Varady’s upset can be seen in the video below. “Why you guys gotta do this?” he asked as he wiped the tears from his face. “I’m not sure I can even go on with YouTube anymore.”

Cizzorz’ reaction was rightfully furious: “In 24 Hours we helped a kid go from 400 subscribers on YouTube to over 87,000... I was just told that someone Swatted him tonight on his livestream,” he said. “I feel so awful. There are some terrible ppl in this world. The kid is only 12 years old. I hope whoever did it, rots in a cell.”

Varady has since decided to press on with his YouTube career.
