US multi-channel Network Channel Frederator has launched a $1 million Creative Fund to back its creators on new projects.
The Wrap reports that the animation specialist wants any of its 3,000 members to present it with new ideas, which will then be evaluated by its team. Those who successfully pitch a project will be given a cut of the funds.
Channel Frederator has a significant presence on YouTube. Since 2015 its members’ channels have generated 140 million subscribers and averages 2.5 billion views every month.
Fostering creativity
“Frederator has been dedicated to saying ‘yes!’ to creators for 20 years, and we’ve helped catapult talent to the pinnacles of the video industries,” said Channel Frederator CEO Fred Seibert.
“We established the Channel Frederator Network to extend our relationships across the globe and hope this latest creative fund will help new filmmakers realise their original visions and distribute them to communities everywhere.”
