Rihanna takes up YouTube vlogging to promote her own cosmetics line

Pop sensation Rihanna has turned to YouTube in order to promote her own line of cosmetics.

Fenty Beauty is Rihanna's own line of beauty products, and the company has its own YouTube channel showcasing make-up tutorials and ideas to over 270,000 subscribers.

The singer features in a new weekly series called 'Tutorial Tuesdays with Rihanna'. The first installment of the series went live last week and has amassed over 800,000 views. In the video, Rhi is creating a soft purple look and running viewers through the steps using her own Fenty Beauty products.

Vlog stars

This isn't Rihanna's first foray into vlogging; earlier this year she did a 10-minute makeup tutorial over on Vogue's official YouTube channel.

Rihanna has also partnered with YouTube last month to host a stream of her lingerie line, Savage x Fenty. The event took place during New York fashion week and will be exclusive to the platform.

YouTube has become a thriving destination for beauty influencers to showcase their products and talent, and make a pretty penny doing so. In fact, beauty vlogger Jeffree Star stated in a recent documentary that his cosmetics brand is worth almost $100 million.
