YouTube TV will soon have the Discovery lineup of channels, but it will also cost users a little more per month.
The price of YouTube TV has risen from $39.99 to $49.99 a month. Existing subscribers who have already been paying the original price for the service will start paying the new price point as of May 13th.
The new channels coming to the service include the Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Investigation Discovery, Animal Planet, Travel Channel, and MotorTrend.
Unfortunately, there isn’t many options for the plans you can choose from, so everyone will have to pay the new price with the new channel additions, even if you aren’t a fan of Discovery content.
Television cutbacks
Despite the new channel additions and complimenting price hike, YouTube is actually cutting back on investment into its TV services. The platform also canceled a selection of its original shows last month.
However, the platform is also looking to support more choose your own adventure styled content, after programs like Netflix's 'Bandersnatch' saw an amount of success.
