Instagram influencer lets his job-juggling mother pay for his holidays

There are a few ways to make money as an online influencer. Partnering with a brand? Video adverts? Merchandise? These are all good places to start.

Or you can just get your mum to pay for it.

Influencer Catalin Onc runs the Instagram account Another Beautiful Day, alongside his wife, Elena Engelhardt. The pair travel around the world, from Paris to Nepal, sharing images of their lives and experiences to a modest 46k followers.

Next month, the pair plan to embark on a mammoth bike ride, starting in Germany, and heading towards Africa. To pay for this trip, Onc and Engelhardt launched a GoFundMe and encouraged fans to donate.

Their GoFundMe goal is $10,000, which, according to the pair, will pay for ‘bike and gear, food and accommodation (when needed), internet and SIM cards in every country to keep you up to date, insurance, emergencies.’

It'll also presumably pay for their flights or ferry to Africa because it's physically impossible to peddle across the Mediterranean sea. The campaign has raised €657 so far.

Mum's the word

Onc also mentioned in a now-deleted post that the two are accepting money from his mother, who works two different jobs to fund their "lavish" lifestyles.

"Having tattoos, a pretty girlfriend and followers on Instagram opens doors for us, it’s true," the Instagram post read.

"Some people are quick to judge and speak. At this very moment we don’t have much, we are accepting money from my mother and also donations but we don’t hide that. This situation is teaching us a lot."

Naturally, their Instagram account is now flooded with comments telling the pair to get a job in order to pay for their lifestyle. We think that's a fair response.
