New social app Vero on the rise

A new social media app is currently taking the internet by storm.

Vero is a networking app that appears to be a cross between Twitter and Instagram. Users can share links to their favourite movies, music and books, but can also share links and photos similar to other mediums.

According to The Guardian, Vero has been active for a couple of years but only began to gain a large amount of traction in the last week. The sudden influx of signups has led to some technical problems with the application.

No ads, only content

According to its website, Vero does not aim to accommodate advertisers like the majority of social platforms. It will eventually become a subscription-based service, where users can pay to see the content they want to and nothing else.

Vero will also have a 'buy now' feature that will allow brands and influencers to sell products directly from the app.

However, Vero is offering a free lifetime membership to the first one million people to sign up to the app.

Vero is currently still in beta, and available to download on iOS and android.
