For the second time in just a month, Snapchat has laid off 100 staff members.
Earlier in March, the company released 100 engineers in one of the largest company cuts to date. This time, employees have been let go from Snapchat's advertising team.
“Late last year, we asked senior leaders across Snap to look closely at their teams to ensure they had the right resources and organisations to support their missions,” Snapchat's chief strategy officer, Imran Khan, said in a statement.
“Tighter integration and closer collaboration between our teams is a critical component of sustainably growing our business.”
It's not looking great
Snapchat hasn't had the best time of it lately. The app's recent redesign was greeted with comtempt by a vast amount of users, with over a million people signing a petition to have the changes rolled back.
The company's stock price also took a hit last month as high profile celebrities such as Kylie Jenner and Chrissy Teigen spoke out about changes to the platform. Pop sensation Rihanna also hit out at Snapchat after becoming the subject of an offensive advert placed on Snapchat.
