YouTube account banned after prank videos portray child abuse

YouTube channel FamilyofFive has been terminated following reports of child abuse being shown in prank videos.

Mike and Heather Martin, the parents and owners of the channel, were charged with child neglect in Autumn 2017, they were sentenced to five years probation and lost custody of 10 year old Cody and 11 year old Emma.

Their probation stipulates that they are not allowed to have any form of contact with the two children, and videos that feature them are not allowed to be posted online.

Stop this

Videos uploaded to the channel, mostly in the form of prank videos shown verbal shouting occurring, as well as signs of physical abuse. Evidence also showed that the children at times received injuries during the filming process.

Phillip De Franco produced a number of videos about this situation and continuously highlighted the couple’s behaviour towards their children.

The family moved from Maryland to West Virginia with the three remaining children and altered the channel name to be FamilyOfFive. The channel and videos still appear in YouTube search but are no longer available for viewing.
