Taylor's University has come under fire after it's Talent Scholarship appeared to have some designs on social influencers.
A requirement of the scholarship asked for influencers and YouTubers to share links to their content and profiles.
This particular aspect caused a stir online, as the application appeared to imply that the influencers are more likely to gain a scholarship.
Some folk have hit out at the application for being unfair, and have expressed that those who apply for a scholarship for financial reasons shouldn't be pitted against influencers earning money from their position.
Jin Lim, founder of Malaysian YouTube channel JinnyboyTV, expressed his opinion on the matter on Twitter, stating that 'these days to get a scholarship you don't need to study hard anymore apparently, just be a social media influencer'
