Bestiality content found on YouTube despite platform removing 8.3 million inappropriate videos

Unfortunate times for YouTube as once again, as offensive content is still blazingly discoverable on the platform.

Images found by Buzzfeed News show video thumbnails of women inciting sexual activity with a variety of animals, including horses and dogs.

The videos were astonishingly easy to locate too; typing the phrase 'girl and her horse' brings up a selection of videos that depict women engaging in sex acts with the animals.

This comes less than 24 hours after YouTube boasted it'd removed millions of offensive videos from the platform.

Nope nope nope

"These images are abhorrent to us and have no place on YouTube," a spokesperson for the company told BuzzFeed News.

"We have strict policies against misleading thumbnails, and violative content flagged to us by BuzzFeed has been removed. We're working quickly to do more than ever to tackle abuse on our platform, and that includes developing better tools for detecting inappropriate and misleading metadata and thumbnails so we can take fast action against them."

A YouTube source told BuzzFeed about a Cambodian content farm that was kicked off the website in 2017; the thumbnails that have been uncovered are very similar to the videos previously removed by YouTube.

While it seems that the majority of these horrendous videos have been removed, searching for the term still brings up a couple of bad videos. YouTube's 'up next' feature will also recommend similar videos that may fall in to the same category.

A YouTube source told BuzzFeed that the graphic thumbnail videos are similar to those made by a Cambodian content farm that was kicked off the website in 2017.

Not all of them contain bestiality, but the tags for the videos are largely the same so will be suggested among videos tagged with animals.
