YouTube adds new features to its Studio app

YouTube has renamed its Creator Studio app as simply YouTube Studio, while adding some new features for channel owners.

The app can now upload videos to YouTube and schedule them to be posted at specific times, rather than having to publish them immediately.

There is also a new 'subscriber count card' at the top of the app's dashboard: another sign that YouTube sees this metric as one of the most important for any influencer building their audience on the service.

"In the coming months, we’re going to continue to make the app better and roll out even more updates, such as allowing you to use creator hearts and pin comments straight from the app," wrote YouTube product manager Jacquelle Amankonah Horton in a blog post.

Desktop uploads may still be popular for many YouTube influencers, not least because they're editing their videos on a computer before uploading them.

However, for quick uploads on the go, as well as keeping tabs on key metrics for their videos, YouTube's creator-focused app is a popular tool, so the improvements will be welcomed.
