Video giant YouTube has announced that the platform has partnered with popular ticket shifting website Ticketmaster.
"We’ve been experimenting with ways we can offer a ticketing experience to fans and we’re excited to announce our first ticketing partnership with Ticketmaster. Starting today, we will begin featuring hundreds of artist’s upcoming U.S. tour dates on their YouTube videos." YouTube stated in a blog post yesterday.
Live shows are becoming a bigger and better source of revenue for YouTubers, and so the platform is stepping up to help its creators sell event tickets at the click of a button.
"YouTube’s massive fan base paired with Ticketmaster’s global roster of concerts and security of verified tickets means we can easily connect a fan’s discovery of music on YouTube to their ability to purchase concert tickets." YouTube said.
Ticketmaster’s deal is not exclusive to YouTube - the company is also affiliated with Spotify and Facebook.
The service is currently live in North America, but YouTube plans to quickly expand and make it available globally.
