Popular Mexican YouTuber embroiled in wild drug cartel scandal

If you thought Logan Paul's corpse stunt at the start of the year was grim, take a look at this.

Christian Omar Palma Gutierrez, known by his YouTube name QBA - is at the forefront of controversy after admitted he was directly involved with three murders.

Gutierrez says he was "under orders" from one of Mexico's most intimidiating drug cartels. The gang murdered three film students and told Gutierrez to dispose of the bodies.

Big mistake

Salomon Aceves Gastelum, 25, Daniel Diaz, 20, and Marco Avalos, 20, were kidnapped by the drug cartel after being mistaken for members of a rival organisation, according to the AFP news agency.

The gang beat Mr Gastelum to death whilst interrogating him, and dumped the other two men in sulphuric acid. Gutierrez was involved in the process.

While it's not known why Gutierrez was involved in the first place, he states he was forced to participate in the murders by the gang.

It's also thought that his YouTube videos were taking a role in the investigation as they largely depict firearms, drugs and and members of the gang.

Gutierrez will be charged with aggaravated kidnapping alongside another suspect. Police have stated that there could be as many as five other suspects that are yet to be caught.
