UK based marketing intelligence group Media iQ rebrands to MiQ

London analytics firm Media iQ has rebranded to MiQ, a snappier abbrevation of its former name. The new title is designed to highlight MiQ's presence as a marketing intelligence resource. 

MiQ recieved a cash injection last year, after running its first ever round of external funding. The round was successful after private quity firm ECI partners acquired a stake.

The firm was founded by Lee Puri and Gurman Hundal in 2010, and has subsequently expanded, giving MiQ a presence in Manchester, Hamburg, New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington, Toronto, Sydney, Denver and Singapore.

“This new position will help re-imagine the value of marketing and put the CMO at the center of decision making within business," MiQ chief marketing officer Rebecca Mahony said in a press release.

"Data is one of the most important currencies a brand has access to and is essential for businesses growth. This new currency requires a new position for MiQ.”

Melissa Wisehart, director of billable media at advertising agency 22Squared, added: “With the data and privacy landscapes changing and advertising sector becoming more competitive than ever, marketers need to get more business insights that are actionable and really understand their data. Marketing intelligence is going to be the key to winning your consumers and MiQ is paving the way forward."
