How far back does social influence actually go? The answer is about 2019 years, allegedly.

Stopping at nothing to connect with the youth, the official Pope Francis Twitter account posted an incredible tweet earlier today.

The tweet stated that Mary, mother of Jesus, was actually the first influencer before the inception of social networks. The "influencer of God" no less.

It read: "with her “yes”, Mary became the most influential woman in history. Without social networks, she became the first “influencer”: the “influencer” of God. #Panama2019"

While the account is probably not run by the actual Pope, it's still quite entertaining to see a religious icon nod towards the world of influencers. Perhaps we'll see him representing Skinny Tea in the near future.
