Valorant, the new online shooter from League of Legends firm Riot Games, has already broken a record on Twitch.
The title has attracted 1.7m viewers on the streaming platform at once, which is an all-time high for the service. In hitting this milestone, Valorant has outperformed battle royale giant Fortnite.
Valorant launched into a closed beta earlier this week, with users having to watch the game being played on Twitch in order to be invited to join the testing phase. So perhaps it's unsurprising that the title has drawn such a large audience.
The game, initially called Project A, was announced at the end of 2019 along with a number of other new titles from the League of Legends maker including the Legends of Runeterra card game. Riot CEO Nicolo Laurent said that the game would be a tactical shooter.
Valorant is set to release during the summer of this year.
