HarperCollins signs up PopularMMOs for graphic novel

YouTube games channel PopularMMOs is diversifying into another medium, graphic novels, courtesy of a publishing deal with HarperCollins.

Aimed at children, A Hole New World will see the channel's founders Pat and Jen starring in a tale of adventure in a Minecraft-style world, aiming for the same audience that bought DanTDM's Trayaurus and the Enchanted Crystal.

The pitch to readers: "PopularMMOs brings together one magical unicorn, one talking cloud, an enormous golem, a dimwitted ship captain, and one oblivious cat in this heart-stopping adventure, as Pat and Jen try to rescue their friends from the zombie-filled new world they’ve fallen into with a single regrettable stumble."

The book won't go on sale until June 2018 according to HarperCollins' website.

PopularMMOs has become one of the most popular child-friendly gaming channels on YouTube in recent years. It currently has just over 13 million subscribers and 10bn lifetime video views.
