Now YouTube bans InfoWars chief

Having this week issued a warning to alt-right ‘news’ service InfoWars, YouTube has now banned the channel’s DC bureau chief Jerome Corsi.

Gizmodo reports that Corsi’s channel had received two previous strikes on the 20th and 26th of February. However, it seems like either the channel was binned without the issuing of a third strike or that the decision was taken without going to the effort of notifying Corsi about whatever his third offense might have been.

Furthermore, it looks as if there’s no route back to YouTube for Corsi either, as YouTube’s policy on termination reads: “Users whose accounts have been terminated are prohibited from accessing, possessing, or creating any other Google Accounts. When an account is terminated, the account owner receives an email detailing the reason for the termination.”

The channel had around 30,000 subscribers prior to its demise.

The news surely puts the main InfoWars account, which also currently sits on two strikes, in real jeopardy. There has been additional bad news for Jones this week after allegations of sexual abuse were levelled at him from former InfoWars employees.

“Alex often spent his time shirtless, and endlessly leering, with or without a shirt, at female guests and employees while creating a disgusting, hostile environment,” the allegation reads.

YouTube indicated yesterday that some of the alt-right bans made this week were made in error, although the nature of the action taken against Corsi suggests his, at least, was entirely deliberate.
