Streamers can now use multiple extensions on Twitch broadcasts

Streams on Twitch can now use more than one video extension at a time, giving creators more ways to customise and enhance their channels.

Broadcasters now have the ability to run up to six extensions simultaneously, three video overlay extentions and an additional three below a video player.

Twitch has also spruced up its extension manager, organising extensions in to different categories including music, games and tools. Tools used by other creators will also show up as "partner picks". There's also a featured section showcasing the most popular extensions among streamers.

Extend your welcome

Extensions are exclusive to Twitch, and are made  by a large community of Twitch developers. They can display leaderboards, polls, viewers, sub notifications - pretty much everything a streamer needs to make their broadcast personal and interactive.

“Ever since we launched Extensions and our community saw how much it enhances the viewer experience, the most requested update has been the ability to use several of them at once,” said Ryan Lubinski, Product Manager of Extensions at Twitch.

“We heard them loud and clear, so now creators can combine multiple overlays and tools to bring more interactivity to their channels and videos. With so many Extensions to choose from, we also updated our discovery site to make it easier to find desired features, including recommendations from popular creators."
