Fortnite streamer arrested after assaulting woman during live broadcast

A streamer has been arrested and reportedly charged after assaulting a woman live on air.

The disgraced streamer - known as MrDeadMoth - was engaged in a round of Fortnite when he began talking to the woman, who remained off camera.

After a short exchange, the streamer abandons his game to confront the woman, who then starts to scream.

The woman was later identified as the streamer's significant other, and three children aged between 20 months and three years were also in the house during the assault.

The streamer's behaviour came to light after a clip of his stream went viral online. It was subsequently reported to the authorities.

In the clip, the woman can be heard calling the streamer a "woman basher" and pleading "don't hit my face".

She also speaks to the streamer's audience, saying "you hear that, all you people there?"

According to New South Wale police, the woman in question was "distressed and shaken by the incident" but was not seriously injured.

Footage of the assault is still online but comes with a warning - some viewers may find the event distressing.
