YouTube homepage recommendations are getting fixed following user complaints

Looks like YouTube has been fiddling around with some features that have been weird lately.

The recommendations section of YouTube has been working differently, suggesting videos that users may have already seen.

The platform recently acknowledged the issue over a YouTube subreddit thread containing numerous viewer complaints about the recommendations system.

“Just confirming that YouTube is aware of this thread and looking into it - we do think something weird is up,” a YouTube community manager wrote on Reddit.

The rep posting on the thread didn’t give much more information beyond that but did ask for users to continue to post replies with anything that YouTube could look into. A common complaint from users was the appearance of videos in the Recommended tab on the home page, which were random and had nothing to do with their watch history.

Even though YouTube has claimed that the issue has been fixed on the backend of the website, more users continue to post online about them being affected by the same problems. The Reddit thread is still up and continues to grow with more and more replies about YouTube’s lack of immediate action.
