YouTube is currently giving out free Super Chat credits to YouTube Premium subscribers, according to a report from AndroidPolice.
Viewers can 'tip' their favourite creators during a livestream when they become a YouTube Premium subscriber. Their chat bubble becomes highlighted and showcased in the chat for others to see.
This was confirmed over Twitter via a post from YouTube’s head of gaming, Ryan Wyatt. According to Wyatt, this is part of an ongoing beta test. Super Chat credits will refresh at the start of every month during the time the beta test goes on.
Those interested in YouTube Premium can join the service for $11.99 per month. Doing so allows you to view videos on YouTube without ads appearing.
It’s a beta test we are running — glad you like it! :)
