InfleuncerUpdate.biz: What does your role at the company entail?
Veera Rouvinen: We are still a relatively small company (30 people), so I wear many hats: I am in charge of our public relations and influencer marketing, but I also do business development, copywriting and community management among other things.

What do you think have been the most exciting developments in gaming since the last Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki?
I think the huge success of the Battle Royale genre is a very interesting turn, and even though the effect has been biggest on PC gaming, the phenomenon is also coming full steam to mobile. It will be interesting to see how the market will change in the next 6-12 months.

What are your thoughts on the way the industry has grown in the last 12 months?
The simulation and lifestyle category has seen a huge rise in games, revenue and players, and a lot more developers are taking female gamers more seriously now as an audience. The games in these categories are constantly becoming deeper and more complex, and the target audience is getting more mature. I think there is still room to grow and to invent, but there has been great progress so far.

What do you think the next 12 months in mobile gaming are going to look like?
As said earlier, I think the battle royale boom will have it's effect on mobile, and even if the Fortnite and PUBG clones might be a fleeing thing, the online multiplayer pvp games are here to stay.

Which part of Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki are you most looking forward to and why?
The Influencer and esports tracks interest me most, the first for professional reasons, and the second for hobbyist reasons
