Twitch has dropped a new feature that allows users to gift different amounts of subs to a channel of their choosing.

The tiers range from just gifting a single sub, all the way up to giving 100 subs to a channel, for viewers without subscriptions.

The buyer can then either choose which viewer they'd like to donate a sub to or gift an amount to the streamer's community.

Community is a big focus for Twitch and subscribers do often gift a sub to other members of a creator's chat if they visit frequently. $500 does seem like a ludicrous amount to spend on a creator but it does happen. Trust me, I've seen it. 

People that buy subs for other community members will also receive a special badge to showcase their generosity.

It's easy to cancel a subscription at any time too, just in case a recipient is being ungrateful.
