Ninja is the first professional gamer to star on the front of ESPN magazine

Twitch star and Fortnite pro Tyler 'Ninja' Blevins is the cover star of the upcoming issue of ESPN The Magazine.

The 27 year old streamer is the first professional gamer to appear on the front of the fortnightly sports mag, marking a huge achievement for the games space.

Blevins' took to Twitter to make the announcement, saying: "so excited to be the first professional gamer to be featured on @espn the Magazine. Cover and profile will be shown on Sports Center tomorrow in the 7 AM EST hour."

Fellow streamers DrLupo and Siefe were swift to respond in the replies, congraulating Blevins' achievement.

Outstanding growth

Blevins' growth in 2018 has been nothing short of phenomenal that this latest event is but one in a long line of successes. In August, he became the first streamer to cross ten million followers on Twitch.

Blevins is also the fastest growing YouTuber of all time, going from one to 10 million subscribers in less than 100 days. He's now reached over 18 million subs.

While Blevins' flagship game Fortnite is experiencing dips in popularity, his presence in the gaming space remains untouchable.
