Subway Surfers developer SYBO is preparing to launch a video streaming, content creation and distribution platform.
Called SYBO TV, this is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of this year.
The platform will feature a host of content spun out of the Subway Surfers IP, such as an animated series and a smaller video series.
Alongside games live streams, trailers, behind-the-scenes looks and lifestyle content, the platform also aims to give influencers and content creators a central location to share Subway Surfers content.
Up and running
“SYBO TV is the latest in our commitment to deliver rich content, cool consumer products and authentic experiences,” said SYBO head of licensing and brand marketing Naz Amarchi-Cuevas.
“So many of our fans identify with the Subway Surfers lifestyle, and we are keen to provide a one-stop digital destination for them to dive further and share the experience.”
SYBO's endless runner Subway Surfers has been riding high since launching over six years ago and ran up 52.5 million downloads in June 2018, which made it its best-ever month.
The title currently has over 2.1 billion downloads across iOS and Android in total.
Speaking at Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki 2018, SYBO CEO Mathias Nørvig described the title as “the most popular game you’ve never heard of.”
