Twitch ambassador program aims to spotlight a different streamer every week

Twitch has unveiled a new ambassador program which intends to highlight a variety of content creators on the platform.

The platform debuted a similar program at TwitchCon 2018, where 15 Twitch ambassadors shared their streaming stories in the lead up to the event.

Twitch plans to continue this by featuring a new ambassador every week. This spotlight will entail having a creator on the platform's homepage, as well as inviting them to take over Twitch's Instagram.

The featured creators will either be existing Twitch partners or affiliates, which still leaves room for smaller creators to be highlighted. The requirements for affiliate status include at least 3 concurrent viewers per stream, 50 followers and 500 minutes broadcasted in the last 30 days.

Positive impact

"The Partners chosen are established and have amazing communities, but their unique stories deserve a bigger spotlight," Twitch stated in a blog post.

"They were chosen specifically because of the positive impact they’ve contributed to the Twitch community. From being role models for their community, to establishing new content genres on Twitch, to having inspirational stories that empower those around them, these creators embody what it means to #BleedPurple".

Twitch has also announced ambassadors for its upcoming TwitchCon Europe event, taking place between April 13th-14th in Berlin.
