Popular video-creator event VidCon is heading to the UK in 2019.
In the midst of a number of expansion plans, Viacom will bring the event to the London ExCel Center early next year. The three day event will run from February 14-17.
This event will be in addition to the two existing VidCon events - the original VidCon US event held in Anaheim, California, and the newer VidCon Europe that debuted in Amsterdam in 2017.
VidCon was originally founded by YouTube brothers Hank and John Green in 2010. Viacom acquired the event in February 2018.
New plans afoot
Viacom Digital Studios also plans to deliver new content in collaboration with a number of partners. The company intends to further extend their brands presence such as Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and MTV across social media platforms.
“The launch of Viacom Digital Studios is an amazing opportunity to reimagine our iconic brands for a new generation of young, mobile-first audiences.” said VDS's president, Kelly Day.
VDS will also launch a new YouTube series in the run up to VidCon 2019. The series will follow one YouTuber's journey as a creator.
