Long form videos could soon appear on Instagram, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The Facebook owned social platform can currently only host videos up to a minute long, unless a user is livestreaming.
According to WSJ, Insta has been in talks with content creators and publishers about the possibility of long form videos finding a home on the platform.
WSJ wrote that Instagram is "preparing to launch a new feature that will include long-form video" and that if and when the features launches, it will do so "within the Instagram app".
While nothing official has been announced just yet, Facebook has been putting a lot of time in to curating a better experience for creators and influencers. It's also been quietly working on it's own influencer platform.
All of this together could be a set of moves to turn Instagram in to alternative platform for content creators to thrive.
