Photo-sharing platform Instagram could soon have a group story function, according to new research.
App researcher Jane Manchun Wong made the discovery over the weekend, and shared a handful of screenshots of the proposed function.
It looks as though users will be able to begin a story post and then share it with friends for them to contribute to before it is published.
Instagram has not confirmed whether group stories will be integrated into the main app yet. However, past updates discovered by Wong have made their way to Instaagram, including a co-watching function and the heavily criticised hidden likes update.
Group stories were rolled out on to Instagram parent app Facebook at the beginning of the year, but were subsequently shut down last month. Facebook refused to comment on how many users were engaging with the function, but its short lifespan suggests that it wasn't too many.
