Twitch's new Giphy extension for streamers lets viewers react with GIFs

Giphy has launched a new Twitch extension that lets viewers react with GIFs during a livestream.

When the extension is activated, an icon will appear on the stream that allows spectators to search for GIFS and make them appear on stream.

The streamer has full control over the extension and can decide where on screen the GIF will appear.

Monitoring offensive content

In an effort to avoid any offensive GIFs from appearing, Twitch said Giphy is "moderated to remove content that is overtly offensive to any race, gender, ethnicity, or community".

GIFs will also be limited to a PG rating (and below) to avoid violence and sexual references.

Extensions were integrated into Twitch last year, but very recently the option was added to run multiple extensions at once, extending the possibilities for chat engagement.
