This week, Logan Paul decided to 'come out of the flat Earth closet'. However, the Flat Earth society is not convinced that his beliefs are genuine.
This weekend, Paul made an appearance at the Flat Earth International Conference (FEIC). He gave a small keynote detailing his thoughts on the theory and refers to himself as a "man of truth."
The organiser of the event seemed enthralled with Paul's involvement, saying he has a " very good feeling he's genuine."
However, The Flat Earth society seems to be a little more suspicious of Paul's actions, and rightly so. While his speech at the event seemed to fool some folk, an interview with The Daily Beast showed Paul struggling to explain his latest stunt without giggling.
He's not with us
The society took to Twitter to address Paul's involvement. The group highlighted that they are not affiliated with the FEIC and as such, they have "no influence" over who they invite to the events.
Additionally, the society affirmed that they plan to have no future involvement with Logan Paul, tweeting: "as of the time of publishing this statement, TFES has not been in contact with Logan Paul, and we have no intention of offering him membership or otherwise affiliating with him. Claims that Logan Paul is a member of TFES or that he may be considered for membership are untrue."
The reason behind Paul's sudden interest in flat Earth is yet to be discovered, but we have a feeling that its part of some elaborate prank.
There is however, a certain irony in watching the Flat Earth Society distance itself from Paul in fears of well, looking stupid.
